Red velvet cake doesn't get all its color from red dye. Some redness occurs naturally when cocoa reacts with acidic ingredients. During World War II, when sugar was rationed, chefs added beets to make up for lost sweetness.

Cooking steps

Brush the Beet!

Drag the brush over the Beet to clean it.

Dice the Beet!

Click the knife to dice up the Beet.

Bake the Beet!

Press the correct baking temperature, then press "On". Press "Off" when the meter is in the green zone. Press "Reset" if you enter the wrong temperature.

Mash the Beet!

Click the hammer when the power level is green to mash the Beet.

Mix the Red Velvet Cake!

Pour the Batter!

Tilt the container to pour the Batter. Don't pour too fast or you'll spill!

Bake the Red Velvet Cake!
